HONG KONG, July 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Kim Kan, Director, Global Real Estate & Construction, KPMG China, has been appointed the new Director of Women’s Rugby for the Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU) for a three-year term.
Kim represented Hong Kong in the HKRU Senior Women’s XVs squad to play in international test matches from 2006-2012. She was also the first woman to receive the Jack Kelly Award for the Hong Kong Football Club Rugby Person of the Year in 2014. In her new role, Kim will be actively promoting women’s rugby in Hong Kong.
Kim said, "I am honoured to represent the women’s rugby community in Hong Kong and to take on this new role to promote the growth and development of women’s rugby in the city on all levels, including working to increase local female youth numbers, as well as encourage overseas young and seasoned women players to return to Hong Kong to play. By fostering a stronger community that appreciates and supports this excellent sport, ultimately, more women can be benefited and empowered."
