HONG KONG, July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — On July 16, "Left-behind Children of Daozhen County Taking Study Tour in Hong Kong" activity started as students of Daozhen County, Guizhou Province arrived in Hong Kong. The activity was co-sponsored by Kweichow Moutai Distillery Trade (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., Guizhou Moutai Chiew Import and Export Co., Ltd., and China Moutai Professional Store (H.K.) Limited, and co-organized by the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence Teachers Association and CITS Hong Kong. They funded the study tour for 22 students and 4 teachers from Daozhen County for the week-long study tour. The objective was to help these left-behind children expand their horizons and promote educational exchanges between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

In recent years, Kweichow Moutai has held many charity activities, with Daozhen County of Guizhou Province being a target of its pairing-assistance program. Previously, Lin Yonghui, General Manager of China Moutai Professional Store (H.K.) Limited, sponsored the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence Teachers Association in offering voluntary teaching to Daozhen County in April. The study tour was a return visit paid by students of Daozhen County. During the interview, Xu Jianfang, Kweichow Moutai Distillery Trade (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., said that it was the first time to take left-behind children of Guizhou to Hong Kong for a study tour, as a sustained effort of their charity programs over the years. By offering assistance to left-behind children of Daozhen County, the activity aimed to bring them to a large city, expand their horizon, and help them mentally for their healthy growth.

The week-long journey meant a lot to these children. At the lecture of the University of Hong Kong, teachers marveled at these children’s deep knowledge of medicinal materials; during their visit to Hong Kong Science Museum, it was easy to see their curiosity and independent thinking ability from their attentive looks; in their visit to the headquarters of Phoenix Satellite Television, they played as presenters and guests, and their spot performance and hosting capability impressed the adults; in the class of TWGHs Wong Yee Jar Jat Memorial Primary School, these children joined in an English class with the Hong Kong students, where they showed their enthusiasm and they were praised by the teacher. In the colorful journey, these children felt the rich culture of Hong Kong and became more self-reliant. Their strength was further tapped and they set higher goals for themselves. Meanwhile, these children were grateful to Kweichow Moutai.

On July 22, "Left-behind Children of Daozhen County Taking Study Tour in Hong Kong" activity concluded successfully, with charity programs continuing. As a leading liquor enterprise in China, Kweichow Moutai has all along been a pioneer and a responsible player in home and abroad charity programs. In November last year, Kweichow Moutai invested RMB 3 million to build a primary school in Mozambique. Its international charity efforts have reached out to each corner of Africa. In June 6 this year, Kweichow Moutai joined hands with four famous liquor-making enterprises along the Chishui River basin to raise fund for Yinchang Village, Chishuiyuan Town, Zhenxiong County, Yunnan Province. It marked the first step of Kweichow Moutai’s poverty alleviation and assistance effort for the source region of the Chishui River in Zhenxiong County.
