Participants treaded a 2.5 kilometre path to raise S$250,000 for the less privileged as well as drive awareness for those living in poverty in Singapore and around the world – where going barefoot is a daily reality. Funds raised from Bare Your Sole 2016, will go towards Project HomeWorks-related initiatives slated for 2017.
Project HomeWorks, Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s local home-cleaning programme, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, having begun as an initiative to improve the living conditions of Singapore’s elderly, disabled and low income families and individuals. By mobilising volunteers to take part in an intense home cleaning process that would improve the beneficiaries’ quality of life, Project HomeWorks has helped clean over 1,800 homes over the past decade.
