SINGAPORE, Oct. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG) has completed the installation of a solar photovoltaic rooftop system for CARROS Centre, Singapore’s first-of-a-kind integrated mega hub dedicated to the Automotive Industry. The system has a total capacity of 540 kilowatt-peak (kWp), and is designed to generate 670 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity each year, enough to power around 50 four-bedroom HDB flats. We expect an annual reduction of 275 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting 4,125 trees each year.
The system is expected to cover over 15% of CARROS Centre’s current power needs and in turn will significantly lower its overall energy bill.

Sustainably driving down your costs and shrinking your carbon footprint

"We are proud to be the first automotive-purposed building in Singapore to use renewable energy as part of our power supply. It is about walking the talk to reduce the effect of carbon emissions," said Raymond Ng, Chairman of BS Capital Group that developed CARROS Centre, who is also Executive Chairman of Enviro-Hub Holdings Ltd, an organization with a diverse portfolio dedicated to e-waste recycling and sustainable solutions. "This also drives a strong environmental message to vehicle owners who visited CARROS Centre for servicing or repairs. Our partnership with Total Solar DG has been positive to-date and we are looking at possibility of solarizing more of our buildings owned by the Group that would promote mass adoption of renewable energy in Singapore."
"Total Solar DG is committed to helping customers drive down both power costs and carbon footprint. We are very pleased to support and enable CARROS Centre’s commitment to sustainability. Total has a unique ability to support customers and has a long-term presence in Singapore," said Gavin Adda, CEO of Total Solar DG SEA.
